With decades of experience in the nonprofit and religious sectors, Health Camp Leadership partners with clients who want to build stronger camps, empower their leaders and succeed in making cultural changes that will improve outcomes for campers and staff.
Melinda Trotti
Melinda delights in outdoor spaces and working with camp and retreat professionals. As a camp director for many years she accomplished much including growing camper numbers, building new programs, and implementing strategic plans. Melinda found her niche as an Interim Director (which she’s done 9 times!) with her strengths of direct communication, understanding the root of systemic management challenges, and organizing for institutional change.
Melinda shares her wealth of knowledge through consulting, teaching and coaching. She has taught over 20 personnel management classes for United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministry Association Gatherings of camping professionals. She’s coached boards and management through crises and leadership change. Her undergraduate degree is in Hotel and Restaurant Management (University of Southern Mississippi – let’s hear it for the Golden Eagles!), and she holds graduate degrees in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Women’s Studies (Simmons College, Boston) and a two-year Masters of Arts in Theology (Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, MA).
As a community organizer and former Director of Justice and Outreach for the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church, Melinda has a heart for social justice and institutional change that makes a real difference in the lives of people.
